Lough Cuan Bowmen run regular Aspiring Archers programmes. Our programme is friendly and enjoyable and are designed to teach the basic skills of archery.
The waiting list for our beginners' course is now closed and we are unable to accept any further requests at this time. The website will be updated when the waiting list is open again.

Between April and August courses are held on a Friday evening at Ards Rugby Club, Lansdowne Road, Newtownards. From September to March we move indoors and courses are held on a Friday evening in Ards Blair Mayne Wellbeing and Leisure Complex, Newtownards.
Four weekly sessions, approximately 9 hours in total. We also hold a fast track course which is over a single weekend. (Usually a Friday evening, and Saturday morning and Sunday morning).
No. All equipment is provided by Lough Cuan Bowmen.
Once the course is completed, all beginners will -
When you complete the course you will receive a certificate providing proof that you have completed a Beginners’ Course and are safe to shoot in a club environment. This certificate can be used to join any archery club.
If you are registering for a young person, (Under 18) please indicate their age. Juniors should be 12 years old when attending the course.
Come along and meet us. We meet at Ards Rugby Football Club from May to August on Friday evenings, 7.00-9.00pm, and in the Ards Blair Mayne Wellbeing and Leisure Complex on Friday evenings, 7.00-9.00pm, from September 4th 2026 to April 2027.
